in the last weekI took my dog to get spayed here today. I was originally quoted $150 if all I wanted done was the spay. They sent me a form to fill out the day before where you choose to pay extra if you want other services. One of the options was IV catheter for fluids, I don’t know what kind of surgery can be done without fluids or an IV. This made no sense, so I chose to pay the $60 extra. I picked my dog up and her leg was bloody. They told me it was from the IV which is fine, but why didn’t they clean it?? On top of this, I get my dog home (who isn’t supposed to be super active or be moved around a lot) and she starts licking her incision (DUH, what dog doesn’t??) and I called and made sure that this was in fact a problem and they said yeah you need to keep it dry, you can come back up here for a cone. Why in the world would they not offer the cone to begin with because what dog doesn’t lick after a surgery?? So I had to load my dog up again and bring her back to the clinic to be sized for the cone AND pay $13 for the cone. Not to mention, they left the paper collar on her under her collar and I didn’t notice until they took her collar off to size her. I don’t mind paying for good work on my dog, but it would have been nice to know before hand. Overall, it was a weird experience and it seems to be low priced low standard practice.

2 weeks agoWent here for a second opinion on my cat's malignant chin tumor. Dr. Ueckert had her evaluated in 5 minutes, surgery that night and home with a perfectly sutured chin the next day -- she's doing beautifully and the whole thing cost a fraction of what I was expecting.

2 months agoI want to personally thank the vet that who walked me through my cat being put down. I also appreciate that they got me in last minute. I also want to say thank you for the assistant who was helping the vet that day. She was so sweet and so understanding and I appreciate them dealing with my emotions because I was a mess. The only reason I gave a four star was because the girl up front I dealt with about my cat going into the initial appointment and then picking up his remains, I don’t know if she was having an off day but she just didn’t seem very sympathetic. I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary, maybe just her saying I’m so sorry about your loss Would’ve meant a huge deal for me, but I just felt when I initially came into see if my cat could be seen She seemed a little annoyed. I get it, it was end of the day, but I also needed my cat to be seen because he was not doing great. I even apologized for coming in without an appointment. when I picked up my cat remains, I just felt like there was no empathy, and she handed me the bag to where It almost fell out of my hands, Again, I don’t know if she’s just having an off day. The only thing I’m kind of sad about is I was told I was going to get a paw print of my cat and I had asked if I could get some of his hair I did not get either of those. I do, though appreciate the vets empathy, understanding, and patience as well as the assistant the day they did put my cat down I can’t stress how much that meant to me and that I want to say thank you to them. Update: I just received a very sweet card with the staffs condolences. It also had Sheldon's fur, paw prints and his little nose print. I'm in tears but I'm so happy I was given this! I appreciate y'all so much! ❤️ 5 stars!!!

6 months agoThe staff and Dr. Adam Arche @Big Country Veterinary Clinic is very kind, understanding, knowledgeable and caring ❤️ ...I was in a lot between November and December"2023" for my sick cat TEAL who was 10 years old..They did everything to help her get well 🐈⬛ but unfortunately she died on 12/22/23 I couldn't afford to have her cremated and put her ashes in a urn ⚱️ because I spent alot of money on her recovery treatment...They were so generous to pick her up at my apartment and take care of all the details for her cremation and urn ⚱️....I am truly grateful and blessed that they cared so much ❤️ ...I even got a card from the staff signed with messages of love for Teal her paw 🐾 prints with the card and their condolences Thank You So Much ❤️ I really appreciate them and totally recommend this veterinarian place. Thanks ❤️ Julie McDowell

a week agoBig Country Vet was great to work with healing our new fur baby to our family. Buster was an unexpected addition as he showed up on our doorstep. Jamie and the team walked us through the steps of his healing and kept us notified of his treatment. Thank you for being so kind and informative!
