4 months agoThe food has been consistently delicious every time I’ve visited. As a vegan of nearly five years that has travelled all over the US I can confidently say the loaded fries are the best I’ve tried, right here in Akron! The Soulful Vegan is a must try.

5 months agoI'm torn with this one. Taste-wise, most of our food was good, but the presentation was, well, bad. Let's talk about the rib dinner: it's made from jackfruit and really does taste like meat. It's pretty good, but it looked like it was just slapped down on the plate...bbq sauce smeared along the sides of the plate...pretty slapdash. It came with two sides, which, if plated with the ribs, might have looked better. But the side of Mac & cheese came separately in a cup, and the side of truffle fries came in a styrofoam clamshell. The Mac was decent... not cheesy but had a good flavor. The fries were lukewarm and soggy and left a greasy pool of oil at the bottom. It was definitely small portions.... Not enough to fill my husband's stomach. He ate half of my meal...which brings me to the next dish: burrito bowl. This was quite filling, flavorful, and large-portioned. It was nicely presented, even if in a plastic bowl. They were out of a lot of things on the menu, and there was no dessert to be seen, which was disappointing because vegan desserts are hard to come by. I was hoping for more creative dishes and ingredients, but it was mainly typical restaurant fare ( hamburgers, fish, tacos , fries) but just with vegan meat swapped in for real meat. Not saying it wasn't good...just not really creative. I can see this being more of a take-out place. I don't recommend it as a destination.

3 months agoThe vegan ribs were fire. Best vegan ribs I've ever had. I went back later that day and got the Philly and the McVegan. I had Mac and cheese which was really good too. But if you're gonna get anything, try those ribs.

a year agoLemme just say, I regret not coming here sooner. I’ve been wanting to try this place for months but never got around to it. I should’ve visited sooner! The food was delicious! I’m not vegan nor vegetarian but this place is excellent at modding your traditional meat-centric foods into vegan goodness. I got the vegan version of the Big Mac from McDonald’s and then loaded French fries. Both were tasted great, especially the cheese. I can never find a good non-dairy cheese but whatever they use works really well. I hope to come back again soon and try their other options

11 months agoThis is honestly a must visit place even if you aren’t vegan but ESPECIALLY if you are. I have never had faux meat be so juicy and delicious, seriously I can’t believe how good this place is. Everything tastes like it is made with love. Must try’s are the wings, Big Mac style burger, Mac & cheese and lemonade! Can’t wait to go back and try everything else.
