I hate having to leave a negative review, especially when the stylist was really nice, but I could not be un-happier with the result of this hairstyling I got done for a photo shoot. I paid almost $40 just to come home and have to completely re-do my hair myself. This was my first time at TX Roots Salon and Spa. And I specifically booked with the stylist I did because it said “specializes in braids”. The first three photos is what I got, the last/fourth photo is what I asked for. She did a normal braid, and it didn’t look that great even for a normal braid, when the braid I asked for was a different style of braid. The curls/waves were done extremely poorly and I can easily do much better ones at home. Unfortunately this is the worst hairstyling I’ve ever had done. I washed and made sure my hair was dry prior to my appointment to shorten things- and I am quite picky about products I used. I had washed my hair for this styling using Moroccanoil, a brand typically used in salons, only to have my hair caked with Aussie hairspray when it was done. I’ve never experienced Aussie products used on my hair in any salon I’ve ever been in- even cosmetology school salons that students have done my hair. That being said, I will not be returning here. Extremely disappointed to have wasted $40 and my time to just have to come home and do my hair all over again.

I had been going to the same hairdresser since I was a kid but started having issues with her. I scheduled an appointment with Courtney on a whim and was not disappointed at all! She did so well and listened to my concerns. She explained to me things that had never been explained to me about my hair and she did such an amazing job! I will definitely be going to her from now on!

Jennie was so sweet and did such a good job with my haircut! I’m usually pretty nervous to get it cut by new people, but she made me feel so comfortable and gave me such a beautiful haircut!

I searched all day and drove to different salons trying to get a haircut. I feel God made me cross paths with Hawley and I thank God I did. She radiated with light and confidence. I myself felt very unconfident but being in her presence I felt alive. Being around another Christian is just a whole different vibe and I'm so thankful our paths crossed. She was so funny and my haircut is beautiful. Thank you for being awesome and just yourself. Even though we are Christians doesn't mean we aren't human and I loved that she was unapologetically herself. Not that she had anything to be apologetic about but she was real and that's refreshing to be around.
